What families have shared with us

We used the Conversation Mapping Session before a family meeting about my parents' property. I was not sure it would be useful — I thought we just needed a lawyer. But having someone help us identify what we actually wanted to say before the legal conversation meant that meeting went very differently. Less tense. We knew what we were asking for.

My wife and I did the Paperwork Sorting Workshop after her mother passed. The workshop was straightforward — the facilitator did not rush us and the checklists were practical, not theoretical. We left with everything organised and a list of who to contact next. I would have liked a little more time on the insurance documents section but overall it was well worth it.

My mother is 74 and we needed to agree some arrangements as a family without anyone feeling pressured. The Family Arrangements Package gave us a framework for the conversation we had been avoiding for two years. The briefing sheet — a simple two-page summary — is now on the fridge and everyone refers to it. It sounds small but it matters.

As a British-Thai household we had piles of documents from two countries and no idea how to organise them. The workshop was exactly what we needed. The facilitator was calm, the checklists accounted for Thai documents like the Tabien Baan which other resources completely miss. We felt less overwhelmed afterwards.

My siblings and I were not able to agree on how to handle our father's house. We kept talking in circles. Hesperos helped us map out what each person actually wanted before we got in the same room. The session itself was straightforward — the facilitator asked good questions and did not take sides. We still needed a lawyer after, but we arrived knowing what we were asking for.

We used the Family Arrangements Package when planning our household's future — we have elderly parents and children in three countries. The written briefing sheet at the end gave everyone something to refer back to when things got confusing later. Hesperos was very clear throughout that they were not advisors, which I appreciated. They told us exactly who to contact for the parts they could not help with.

Three household journeys in brief

Challenge

A Thai-Australian couple needed to agree what would happen with their Chiang Mai property and savings if either of them became unable to make decisions. Neither spoke the other's family's language well. Two family meetings had ended inconclusively.

What We Did

We ran a Conversation Mapping Session with the couple, then a second session with both families over video. Each family received a translated summary. We then provided a referral to a bilingual Chiang Mai notary for the formal documents.

Outcome

Both families left the video session with a shared written summary in Thai and English. The couple proceeded with their formal documentation within the following month. Both described the process as "the least stressful part of the whole arrangement."

"We finally had the same conversation instead of two different ones happening at once."

Household, Chiang Mai — March 2025

Challenge

Three adult siblings from Lamphun needed to manage their late mother's estate. They had located about half the documents and were unsure which official bodies to contact for the others. They had been told to see a lawyer but did not know what to take to the appointment.

What We Did

We ran a Paperwork Sorting Workshop with all three siblings. Over three and a half hours, we worked through what they had, identified what was missing, and provided a checklist and referral list for the official steps they needed to take before meeting a lawyer.

Outcome

The siblings arrived at their lawyer appointment with organized folders and a clear list of questions. The lawyer told them it was the best-prepared estate enquiry she had received that year. Process timeline reduced from an estimated eight months to just over four.

"We had everything in order. For the first time since Mum died we felt like we knew what we were doing."

Family, Lamphun — April 2025

Challenge

A household of four adult family members — parents and two adult children — needed to agree how the family home in Nimmanhaemin would be managed as the parents aged. The children had different ideas; the parents felt caught in the middle.

What We Did

We used the Family Arrangements Package across three sessions spaced two weeks apart. Between sessions, each family member received a short reflection document to review privately. The final session produced a written plan and a briefing sheet all four could agree on.

Outcome

The family did not need to revisit the conversation for over six months. The written plan was referenced several times without conflict. The parents described feeling "lighter" after the process — not because everything was resolved, but because they knew where they stood.

"We needed to actually hear what each person wanted. This gave us that without anyone losing face."
